My room was spotless with a toaster, an oven, and a stovetop.

Travelled with my brother, spent 1 night here and had a really really nice stay. The location was nice and close to places I visited. Moreover, the hotel was easy walk to a bus station.

The rooms here are well-equipped with good facilities.

The double room was themed, had Wi-Fi and a TV set. Had kitchen which was convenient. Enjoyed the location in Brighton area.

Spotless room with shared bathroom and a dining area, pay TV, and a seating area. A nice decor. Fab, lovely location very close to the coast and the cliff top, amiable staff. For tea or coffee visit Peggy Berry's Deja Vu nearby.

Incredibly friendly hotel and the location in area at the back of house-nice touch was magnificent and unbeatable. Greatly enjoyed our rooms with good facilities. We had a really nice time.

We had a wonderful stay at John Wayne's Lodge. The weather was perfect, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful outdoor facilities, including a relaxing fish pond and sunny breakfasts. The staff, including John, his family, and Keith. The kitchen was fantastic, surpassing our expectations. Our dog felt right at home here, making our experience even better. We highly recommend this place for sociable and friendly guests.

As a couple looking for a relaxing beach getaway, we stayed at John's Lodge By Sea for a weekend. The warm welcome from the owner's brother, Ash, made us feel at home from the start. The upstairs room was spacious and well-equipped with a comfy bed, en-suite bathroom, and even a mini fridge with fresh milk for our morning coffee. The main kitchen and lovely enclosed garden were open to use, and we enjoyed the option of the hot tub. The location was perfect with a short walk to the beach and easy access to Brighton Marina by bus. Free Wifi was a bonus. 100% recommend!

I traveled down in my van with my scooter for the classic scooter event and they allowed me to park my van on the drive and keep my scooter on site. The owner and staff were very helpful and made me feel welcome. The room had a comfortable bed and homely linen. The bathroom had a separate bath and a large shower space. There was plenty of tea bags, milk, and sugar. it was a nice place with nice people and good facilities.

John Wayne's Lodge By Sea is located on a quiet residential road, close to the coast and next to the sea. It's conveniently situated near the ferry terminal, making it a great base for travelers. The hotel is also near the bus route, providing easy access to explore the surrounding area. The rooms are cozy and practical, offering ensuite bathrooms and comfortable beds. The facilities include a TV and there is a private bathroom for guests to use. The location is a perfect spot for going on walks next to the cliffs and enjoying the beautiful seaside views.

The hotel lacks certain amenities like a private jacuzzi and private beach, as advertised.

bathroom cleanliness could be improved

I was excited to stay at John Wayne's Lodge By Sea, but unfortunately, my experience was less than ideal. The room I booked was supposed to have a double bed, but I ended up with three single beds instead. The bedding looked worn and used, and there were hairs on the pillow. The shared bathroom was far from clean and lacked basic hygiene. the property was worn-out and did not meet the rating it had. I would advise others to be aware and consider other options.

Although John Wayne's Lodge By Sea had some positive aspects, such as comfortable beds and a good-sized room, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. The overcrowding was a major issue, with 15 adults, a baby, 3 dogs.

The location was convenient for visiting nearby Brighton.

The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel were poor. the room had personal belongings scattered around and hadn't been cleaned properly.
